Pierre Sterle was a renowned jeweler in Paris whose craftsmanship were sought by the largest jewelry houses, including Chaumet, for which he designed a series of brooches.
The "Alexandre" brooch was previously owned by the Begum Aga Khan. The figure has a carved obsidian face and features 18 karat gold chain mail, diamond baguettes, three lines of rubies, and white mother of pearl. Available at the Monte Carlo Auction House July 17.
