One of Japan’s 20th Century Collections Under Threat of Liquidation

At Large Despite holding one of the most emblematic collections of 20th century western art in Japan, Chiba Prefecture’s Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art is now facing serious threats of dissolution. Located 50 minutes from Tokyo by train, the museum was initially opened in 1990 by Katsumi Kawamura, the then president of Dainippon Ink and Chemicals (DIC).
