Now at the Long-Sharp Gallery, Tarik Currimbhoy’s first solo exhibition, Sway, fascinates viewers with over a dozen kinetic sculptures, ranging from 9" in diameter to 3' tall. Crafted from stainless steel and bronze with mathematical precision, the sculptures draw on Currimbhoy’s experience as a designer and architect. Expertly fashioned, their sleek, geometric shapes balance or rock in response to gravity and compression. They look striking both at rest and in motion.
Paris – For the first time in over 20 years, a painting by Vincent van Gogh, one of the most emblematic artists of the 20th century was offered at auction in Paris. "Raccommodeuses de filets dans les dunes" was sold for €7,065,000/ $8,266,050 (estimate €3 – 5 M), by Artcurial, under the gavel of Francis Briest. An American collector placed the winning bid following an arduous battle.

The Brooklyn Museum is pleased to present Rob Wynne: FLOAT, a site-specific activation putting the artist’s signature glass installations in dialogue with works in the American Art galleries. The presentation features fifteen works, mostly made from hand-poured, mirrored glass—some composed of over a thousand individual pieces—juxtaposed with selections from the Museum’s collection of historical American art. The installation will create unexpected encounters and conceptual resonances between the works on view.
