ArtReview published its annual Power 100 list last week. The 16th edition of this important who’s-who list names the most influential people in the art world. This year's list includes artists, curators, gallerists, theorists, authors and more. According to ArtReview, “An individual’s or group’s ranking is based on their international influence over the production and dissemination of art and ideas in the artworld and beyond over the past 12 months.
The New York Metro Transit Authority (MTA) is upping the MetroCard’s style cachet in 2017, even in the wake of the MTA’s recent announcement that it will be phasing out the physical payment system in near future. For now, some MetroCards will be turned into modern art.

Washington, DC—Stretching nearly 20 feet wide by 8 feet tall, Mural (1943) is the largest work by Jackson Pollock (1912-1956). Beyond its monumental proportions and the many myths that surround its creation, the painting stands as one of the artist's greatest achievements. The iconic work will make its DC debut this fall through a special loan from the University of Iowa Museum of Art to the National Gallery of Art, Washington.

This autumn, Tate Britain will unveil an immersive new installation by Marguerite Humeau (b.1986, Cholet, France). Humeau’s practice often takes the form of research-based projects to challenge key issues of the day using complex narratives that synthesise the past with the present. Humeau here blurs the boundaries between research and fiction, science and myth. She creates a uniquely sensory experience using bodily substances, polystyrene sculptures and the recreation of Cleopatra’s voice.
November 2, 2017 (New York, NY) – The second edition of TEFAF New York Fall came to a close yesterday, November 1, 2017, at the historic Park Avenue Armory, following six days of steady, strong sales and attendance from international art-world and academic leaders, collectors, and the public.
Rufino Tamayo (1899–1991), one of the most celebrated artists of the 20th century, was drawn to New York City at a time when unparalleled transatlantic and hemispheric cross-cultural exchange was taking place. “Tamayo: The New York Years” is the first exhibition to explore the influences between this major Mexican modernist and the American art world. It reveals how a Mexican artist forged a new path in the modern art of the Americas and contributed to New York’s dynamic cultural scene as the city was becoming a center of postwar art.
