About The Artist
Todd Longoboat is from the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario, Canada. He is from the Wolf Clan of the Onondagas Nation. A self taught artist, he learned to carve by watching his family members; both parents carved as did his older brother Craig. Many of Todd's uncles also worked in soapstone. Todd started to carve when he was 11 years old. Medium of choice is Brazilian soapstone. Subjects involve the eagle, turtle, wolf and faces, which represent his native people.
