About The Artist
Schomer Lichtner (1905-2006) was a celebrated American artist best known for his vibrant, whimsical paintings and sculptures that often featured playful depictions of cows and ballerinas. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lichtner studied at the Milwaukee State Teachers College and later at the Art Students League of New York, where he developed a strong foundation in traditional artistic techniques. Lichtner's career spanned over eight decades, during which he became a central figure in the Wisconsin art community.
