About The Artist
James Fagan, born in 1864, was an American etcher who worked in a realistic style. He favored naturalistic scenes of everyday life. Fagan was also interested in classical subjects, choosing to depict heroes from Greece and Rome. A well traveled man, he also created scenes from places like Cuba and the Netherlands. Fagan died in 1918.
