About The Artist
Anne P. Wert’s paintings celebrate a love for nature. She uses watercolor or oil to recreate a fleeting moment and an impression of light, movement, or stillness. Her work is inspired by the world around her and endeavors to capture the heart of a place.
According to Wert, “I paint from nature because it is such a calming and centering force. I think of the outdoors the way the poet Mary Oliver did, with reverence and awe. Rather than words, I use paint to convey this wonder. I hope people feel a sense of joy and peace when looking at my work because that is my experience when creating it. I want to remind people of the beauty of nature, and in doing so, remind them of the importance of preserving it.”
Wert’s work is in private collections around the world, and can regularly be seen in galleries across New England.
