Max Pechstein

Max Pechstein (1881-1955) was a German Expressionist painter and printmaker, born in Zwickau. As a founding member of the Die Brücke group in Dresden, Pechstein played a vital role in the development of German Expressionism. His works, such as "Street, Berlin" (1911), exhibit vibrant colors, bold brushstrokes, and a focus on emotional intensity. Pechstein's art often portrayed urban scenes, landscapes, and figures, reflecting the tumultuous social and political climate of the early 20th century.
