Diego Glazer
About The Artist
Diego Glazer was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but grew up in Querétaro, Mexico. Holding Swiss nationality, he was exposed to a myriad of cultures from an early age. As an emerging artist, Diego delves into the boundless possibilities of oil painting, aiming to craft ambiguous atmospheres imbued with nostalgia. His artistic journey commenced with workshops in Querétaro, including one under the guidance of Mexican realist artist Ramsés de la Cruz. Diego furthered his education at the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Here, he immersed himself in impressionist methods under Guillermo Guerrero, simultaneously honing various other techniques. In 2014, Diego relocated to Florence, Italy, where he completed a three-year Drawing and Painting program at the Angel Academy of Art. It was there that he grasped the academic methods of the 19th-century French school of painting, nurturing his ardor for capturing his distinctive perception of beauty. Diego has showcased his work in places like Querétaro, San Miguel de Allende, and Mexico City. Among his accolades are a second-place win in the 9th Annual PleinAir Salon Competition, first place at the Greenwich Village competition in New York's Salmagundi Club, and various Honorable Mentions, including one from the ARC Salon. Furthermore, he was chosen for the MOD Portrait 2020 Exhibition. Currently, Diego crafts intricate scenes, blending elements like the human figure with architecture, animals, and landscapes to weave an engaging narrative.
