Brighton Mutongwizo

Brighton Mutongwizo was born on the 15th of March, 1975. He did his primary education at St. Matthew Ngundu School in Chihota, Marondera and then went on to graduate from Ushewokunze Secondary School in Seke in 1989. Brighton’s brother, Kennedy Musekiwa, a renowned artist, instructed Brighton on the technicalities of sculpting. By assisting his brother, Kennedy with the finishing works of some of his sculptures, Brighton was able to gain valuable experience and has gone on to become a talented artist in his own right. Brighton relies on his daily living experiences for inspiration, bringing these images to life in his sculptures. He has exhibited in Zimbabwe and in the United States. A vibrant and dedicated sculptor, his work can be found in private collections and galleries around the world.
