Alexander Tillotson was born in Waupun, WI on July 9, 1897. He was a painter and a printmaker. He was a student in Minnesota. Tillotson was the Director of the Mulvane Art Museum and Head of the Art Department at Washburn College in Topeka, KS. In 1926, he participated in the Art Student's League of Milwaukee Exhibition; The Milwaukee Journal's Gallery of Wisconsin Art in 1929; Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors Nineteenth Annual Exhibition in 1932; Art Institute of Chicago in 1936; and in 2000 he was featured in the Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors Wisconsin Artists in All Media Centennial Exhibition. The artist died in 1966.
