About the Item: Lucille (1940s Female Bust Fashion Rendition)' is an original drawing by the American artist Jorge Ruiz-Martinez. The artist works in an art deco style, imagining graceful figures in historic costume through that stylized lens. Art Deco architecture and graphic design took hold in the United States and Europe during the first part of the 20th century and came to be the iconic style of the metropolis and modernity. Ruiz-Martinez's drawings, though more stylized and simplified, recall the fashion images of Art Deco master Erté who likewise presented single elegant figures in resplendent costume. This example is of course an ode to the American actress, comedian and icon Lucille Ball, star of the sitcom 'I Love Lucy'. The artist signed and dated this piece in the lower center. Artwork Size: 21" x 18" Frame Size: 27" x 21"
About The Artist
"My background is as complicated as my thoughts! Acquired training in Architecture, Engineering and Visual Arts. My career started in the furniture industry traveling throughout Europe where I quickly developed a passion for design. My visions are plagued with an interest in fashion and a desire to bring to life social issues. My art reflects that which is most dear to my heart!" - Jorge Ruiz-Martinez
