About the Item: This painting was in my inventory from when I had my gallery on Magazine Street, and it just turned up. I can't read the signature on the back and don't recall the artist - I had bought some paintings I liked from her to sell in the gallery. At any rate, she does really interesting things with paint and I can't tell how she achieves some of them. Not just squeegee-ing paint in a Gerhard Richter way, as many artists copy, but getting these blotchy and jagged passages, and various levels of transparency. This is what I had liked about her paintings from the beginning - her wonderful handling of paint. The result is striking, I think.
