Nerys Levy was born in Wales and is a long time resident of Carrboro, N.C. She is a member artist at FRANK Gallery- a fine arts gallery based in Carrboro with an active non profit /community outreach component of which Nerys is Chairperson. She is also represented by Amsterdam Whitney Gallery, New York. Nerys is an on site landscape painter and is interested in documenting the forms and forces of nature. One of her main involvements is climate change awareness and to this end she has worked in both the Arctic and Antarctic. She has shown her work in Polar shows in many North American museums and the polar section of her website, neryslevy.com is being promoted by Disney‘s Penguins educational platform and the UK Times Educational Supplement for use in elementary schools.She was recently selected to show her Polar work in the Orange County NC Uproar Arts Festival and in 2024 she will be working with the poets laureate of Carrboro and Chapel Hill in a show of her Polar work for local youths who will be asked to respond to the show in poetry to the issue of climate change.
