About The Artist
Sarah Elizabeth Barnett, a painter from North Texas currently based in Washington State, earned her BFA from the University of North Texas in 2018 and her MFA from Washington State University in 2022, where she now serves as an adjunct instructor. After participating in the 2018 Summer Undergraduate Residency Program at the New York Academy of Art, Sarah has exhibited in competitive juried shows regionally and nationally, including Terrain in Spokane, the 2021 AXA Art Prize Exhibition, and MANIFEST in Cincinnati. Known for her highly representational and distorted oil paintings, her work explores themes of mortality, self-preservation, isolation, and the interplay between the human body and technology, and she has recently contributed to public mural projects in Pullman, WA.
