About the Item: Emerging artist Leroy Miranda took off like a rocket a few years back in 2015 when he was discovered in New Orleans. A painting of this self-taught artist with what he describes as "a very rough past," some of it on the street, caught the attention of a framer when brought in by a friend, and he was given a one-man show on Magazine Street right off the bat - which was packed and sold out. Since then, his work has proliferated in the Crescent City and is beginning to get a foothold in other national markets. His work lies somewhere between representation and abstraction -- always full of color, humor and charm. In this one you can see bits of all sorts of things, including caps, an oil paint tube, who knows what. I've seen hair, cigarette butts, all sorts of odd things in his paintings!
