About The Artist
Philip Krejcarek is a Professor of Art at Carroll University, where he has been teaching since 1977. He served as the Chairman of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts from 2009 to 2014 and received the Benjamin F. Richason Faculty Award for Teaching, Research, and Educational Innovation in 1993. He is the author of several books, including Digital Photography: A Hands-On Introduction (1997) and An Introduction to Digital Imaging (2003), both published by Delmar Learning/Thomson Learning. Additionally, he wrote the novel Sybil (2018), which blends prose with short plays. Philip's work has been featured in various national juried exhibitions, earning numerous accolades such as the Kodak Photo Educator Scholarship from The Santa Fe Photographic Workshops (1993), the Grand Prize in the Faculty/Staff Portfolio category at the Photo Imaging Education Association's International Competition (2004), recognition in the Fifth Annual Focal Point Gallery National Photography Competition in New York (1994), and the Wisconsin Arts Board Individual Artist Program New Work Award (1993)
