About The Artist
Deborah Newman is an oil painter specializing in landscape painting, with a background as an Art Director in San Francisco for 15 years before relocating with her family to the desert. What was intended to be a temporary two-year stay in Henderson, Nevada, has turned into a 30-year adventure, during which she began painting as a creative outlet. Her love for the natural landscape stems from her childhood in southern Marin County, where she developed an interest in plein air painting. Influenced by artists like Winslow Homer and John Singer Sargent, she draws inspiration from capturing the essence and mood of beloved landscapes, including those of San Francisco and Mt. Tamalpais.
