About the Item: This oil on canvas with gold leaf is an older work that is now back in my studio. The image itself is 36 x 48 inches. This piece was made at a time when I was doing mostly figurative work. It has long been one of my favorite pieces. The title, Ash Wednesday, is not thematically relevant despite the attitude of the figure and the gold leaf; rather it refers to the day that I completed it.
